Christopher Francese
Professor Francese has been at Dickinson College since 1996. From 1993 to 1996 he taught at Swarthmore College. His specialty is Latin poetry, and he has written about Ovid, Vergil, Propertius and Parthenius of Nicaea. His book on Roman culture and the Latin language, Ancient Rome in So Many Words, appeared in 2007 with Hippocrene Press. He produces an occasional series of podcasts on Latin poetry. His teaching interests include Classical Mythology,Roman social history, and the Latin and Greek languages. He was educated at the University of Texas at Austin (MA, 1989; PhD, 1993); Oberlin College (BA, 1987) and Boston University.
