Carlisle and Dickinson College

Carlisle is in south Central PA, near the capital, Harrisburg, and about two hours from Washington, DC, Baltimore and Philadelphia. Maps and directions are here.

Dickinson College offers a four-year program of study in the liberal arts, and has about 2200 students. It was founded in 1783, the first college chartered in the newly-recognized United States of America. It was named to honorJohn Dickinson, the penman of the American Revolution and a signer of the Constitution, but the main spirit guiding the institution was Benjamin Rush. The classics department absolutely rocks.

Here's a good annotated map of downtown.

May I recommend the Good Life Cafe?
