We will attempt to read together all of Catullus in six days. Can it be done? We will have fun trying.

ARRIVAL:arriveFEE: The fee for 2008 is $300, due in a check made out to Dickinson College, by June 1. Please send it to Mrs. Barbara McDonald, Department of Classical Studies, Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA 17013. (The full cost is about twice that, but the workshop is subsidized by the Roberts Fund for Classical Studies.)

ARRIVAL: arrive no earlier than 1:00 p.m., no later than 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13. Our first meeting will be dinner, Sunday at 6:00 (see below). Check in at the Department of Public Safety at 400 W. North St. (in the rear. Returning participants note: the location of Public Safety has moved since last summer). Their phone number is 717-245-1349. There you will receive a key and directions to your residence, along with a card which will allow you to get meals, use the library, the fitness center and pool, as well as other useful information about the campus and the town of Carlisle.

PARKING: park free on W. Louther street in front of your residence. You may also park in student lots, but not in faculty or staff lots. This map shows parking areas on campus is available.

LODGING: single rooms, unless otherwise requested, but with shared bathrooms; linens, air conditioning, and housekeeping are included.

DEPARTURE: the final event will be the farewell dinner, 6:00 Saturday, July 19. Lodging on the night of July 19th is available upon request.

MEALS: will be taken in the Dickinson College Cafeteria ("the caf") in the Holland Union Building on first block of North College Street. Vegetarian dishes are available. A special side room has been reserved for our group. The Quarry is a coffee bar right across the street from the cafeteria, but your meal card will not work there, only cash. An outstanding cappuccino can be had at Casa Mani, a café on the corner of High and Pitt Streets, two blocks from campus.

PHONES, MAIL AND EMAIL: There are no phones in the rooms. Internet access with an ethernet cable, but no wireless. The library has public machines with internet access, and wireless.
